My client, a contemporary restaurant based in the Franschhoek area, is seeking to employ a SOUS CHEF who is passionate about delivering exceptional cuisine and supporting a high-performing kitchen team. This role requires someone who thrives in an upmarket, fast-paced environment and is ready to contribute to world-class food preparation, execution and service.
Purpose of the Role: Assist the Head Chef with kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality dishes and consistency in an upmarket restaurant environment.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Assisting with overall kitchen management
- Supporting menu execution and quality control
- Overseeing stations and guiding junior staff
- Ensuring consistency in presentation and service delivery
- Maintaining kitchen hygiene and operational standards
Criteria
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
- Relevant culinary certificate or diploma
- Strong technical abilities and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail and consistency
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and professional kitchen standards
- Willingness to learn, collaborate and maintain high kitchen standards
Market related salary / flexible hospitality hours apply / this role is reserved for a Chef who reside in or within close proximity to Franschhoek
