Tasting Room Assistant

We are seeking a Tasting Room Assistant for a 4-month fixed-term contract starting at the end of January 2026. This is an hourly-paid position that requires weekend work (Saturday & Sunday, 10h00–16h00), weekday work (08h00–17h00), and occasional evenings. The successful candidate will receive two days off per week.

The ideal candidate would have the necessary skills and experience to do the following tasks:

Responsibilities

• Manage daily tasting room bookings, wine sales, and wine tastings.
• Provide information regarding company products and general knowledge on the South African wine industry.
• Responsible for always keeping the tasting room neat.
• Always be presentable as an ambassador of the brand.
• Create a warm and memorable experience for the guests, building brand loyalty.

Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12 (preferable).
• Previous winery tasting room experience.
• Basic wine knowledge.
• Likely to be in the age group of 20-35 years.
• Willing to work weekends, public holidays, and occasional evenings.
• Fluent in English; additional languages (Afrikaans/Xhosa) beneficial.
• Suitable level of maturity and professionalism expected for the role.
