Durbanville Wine Safari has an exciting opportunity for a young, enthusiastic individual to join our small, motivated team as a Junior Host / Wine Guide and gain valuable experience in the tourism- / hospitality- / wine industry. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities include; but will not be limited to:
  • Accompany guests on a safari vehicle visiting wine farms in the Durbanville area, narrating interesting information and wine recommendations. 
  • Engage in customer communication to ensure an amazing and truly memorable experience. 
  • Interact with Tasting Room Managers via a WhatsApp group; keeping them updated regarding the schedule, amount of bookings and provide timeous feedback.
  • Compose photos and videos for social media content.
Experience & characteristics required for this role:
  • Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
  • Able to think on your feet, problem solve and adapt.
  • Passion for wine and people.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills; self-confidence and a natural / effortless ability to connect with a wide range of people / personalities.
  • Bi-lingual will count in your favour.
  • Must be literate, have a reliable smartphone with data and a working camera.
  • Own transport needed. Our departure station is at Protea Hotel, Durbanville.
The expectation for this position:
  • 2 - 4 shifts in a week
  • Availability: Wednesday - Sunday: we work on a roster format, required shift days are flexible.
  • Remuneration: R45.00/hr + tips (min. 8 hrs per shift)
