We are seeking a full time Senior Tasting Room Assistant who can lead with warmth, confidence, and creativity — someone who turns every guest visit into an unforgettable experience.
About the Role
As the Senior Tasting Room Assistant, you’ll help orchestrate daily operations, support the Tasting Room Manager, and ensure guests experience the very best of D’Aria. You’ll lead tastings, guide staff, handle sales and administration, and most importantly — deliver exceptional, seamless client service from the first greeting to the last pour.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional, seamless client service that reflects D’Aria’s premium standards.
Conduct engaging and professional wine tastings for local and international guests.
Promote wine sales, wine club memberships, and estate experiences (venue, cottages, events).
Supervise and mentor tasting room staff in the absence of the Manager.
Manage daily cash-ups, sales transactions, and stock administration.
Support estate marketing and assist at off-site tastings or promotional events.
Maintain the highest standard of presentation, cleanliness, and guest readiness.
Requirements
2–3 years’ experience in hospitality, wine tasting, or customer service.
Solid wine knowledge and a love for the South African wine industry.
Excellent communication, leadership, and sales skills.
Professional, reliable, and customer-focused.
Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and during events.
Own reliable transport
Bilingual: Afrikaans and English
Working Hours
The tasting room is open 7 days a week - the position will include weekend, public holiday, and high season working hours.
