Role: Financial Accountant – Wine Sector
Start Date: 1 March 2025 (priority role)
• Operates in the agricultural and wine production sector
• Part of an internationally owned group structure
• Hands-on, operational environment with close management interaction
• Reports to: Financial Manager, COO, and Majority Owner
• Manages/oversees a small finance team (1–2 staff)
Hands-on Financial Accountant responsible for accurate financial records, reporting, compliance, and audit support.
• Monthly management accounts and weekly financial reporting
• Budgeting, forecasting, and budget vs actual tracking
• Preparation of Annual Financial Statements (AFS)
• Debtors and creditors management
• Bank processing and reconciliations
• Stock and cost reconciliations (wine inventory & packaging)
• Tax and statutory submissions (VAT, PAYE, Provisional Tax, IT, UIF, WCA)
• Liaison with SARS, auditors, and external service providers
• Audit and independent review preparation
• MS Wine accounting / wine management software (advantageous)
• B.Com / Accounting or Finance qualification essential
• 3–5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
• Agricultural or wine industry experience advantageous
• Strong IFRS and accounting principles knowledge
• Detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable in a small team
• This is an on-site position
• From R35,000+ per month (preliminary ceiling), depending on experience and qualifications
