Maintenance Position Available

Job Title: Experienced Handyman for Boutique Hotel & Farm Maintenance

Location: Franschhoek Valley, Western Cape

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Handyman with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the Boutique hotel and wine farm industry to join our team and contribute to the upkeep and charm of our boutique hotel, farm cottages and agricultural wine farm. You will play a vital role in ensuring our property’s buildings and facilities are well-maintained, functional, and inviting for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general repairs and maintenance across all areas, including but not limit to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and tiling.
• Proactively inspect, diagnose, and resolve issues in guest rooms, communal areas, and external spaces.
• Carry out preventative maintenance on equipment, building systems, and fixtures to minimize downtime and enhance safety.
• Assist with landscape and outdoor area maintenance as needed.
• Support renovation or improvement projects to maintain the aesthetic and functional standards of our property.
• Regular stock take of maintenance equipment and supplies.

Requirements:

• At least 8 years of hands-on experience in hotel, lodge, or cottage maintenance.
• Proficiency in multiple maintenance trades: plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, basic mechanical repairs, brick laying and plastering 
• Strong problem-solving skills and an eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently, with good communication skills.
• Commitment to quality work and a keen sense of hospitality.
• Good record keeping skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Own Vehicle in times of after hours emergency 
• Live near or in Franschhoek Valley
