Duration: 12–24 Month Internship (with potential permanent appointment)

About the Company

We are a contract bottling and packaging facility servicing the wine and edible oil industries. Our operation includes filling lines, quality assurance systems, traceability controls, and food safety certification standards. We supply leading producers and operate in a regulated manufacturing environment.

This internship is designed to develop a future Production Manager through practical, hands-on exposure to all operational aspects of the plant.

Purpose of the Role

To train a graduate in managing production processes, people, quality systems and operational efficiency in a food manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will rotate through production, planning, quality assurance and maintenance functions.

Key Learning Areas & Responsibilities

During the internship you will gain experience in:

Production Operations

  • Line setup and changeovers
  • Production scheduling and throughput control
  • Yield and waste monitoring
  • Staff supervision and shift coordination

Quality & Food Safety

  • FSSC 22000 / HACCP systems
  • Traceability and batch control
  • Non-conformance investigations
  • Hygiene and GMP compliance

Planning & Logistics

  • Raw material coordination
  • Packaging material control
  • Production planning vs orders
  • Warehouse flow and stock control

Continuous Improvement

  • Downtime analysis
  • Root cause problem solving
  • Process optimization
  • KPI reporting

Maintenance Exposure

  • Preventative maintenance planning
  • Equipment performance monitoring
  • Interaction with technicians

Minimum Requirements

  • BTech / Advanced Diploma in:
    • Food Science
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Production / Operations Management
    • or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Good communication and leadership potential
  • Willingness to work in a hands-on factory environment
  • Valid driver’s license and own transport (essential due to location)
