Reports to: Tasting Room Manager / Estate Manager

Role Overview: 
We are looking for a passionate, organized, and charismatic Assistant Tasting Room Manager to join our boutique team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-level hospitality and daily operational excellence. You will ensure that every guest experiences the soul of our wines while supporting the management of staff, inventory, and sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience: Lead by example on the floor, conducting premium tastings and sharing the unique heritage, terroir, and winemaking philosophy of our boutique estate.

Operational Support: Assist in the daily opening and closing procedures, including cash-up, point-of-sale (POS) management, and staff scheduling.

Wine Club & CRM: Drive wine club memberships and maintain an accurate database to foster long-term relationships with our patrons.

Inventory Control: Manage stock levels, oversee monthly stocktakes, and ensure the tasting room is always "retail ready" with polished glassware and curated displays.

Staff Mentorship: Assist in training junior scullery and tasting staff on service standards and technical wine knowledge.

Events: Coordinate and execute small-scale private events, and VIP tastings.

Requirements & Skills
Experience: 1–2 years in a high-end tasting room or hospitality environment, preferably within the Franschhoek or Stellenbosch region.

Education: WSET Level 2 or Cape Wine Academy Certificate (Certificate/Diploma) is highly advantageous.

Tech Savvy: Proficiency in POS systems (e.g., Lightspeed) and Microsoft Excel.

Soft Skills: A natural storyteller with the ability to remain calm under the pressure of a busy Saturday afternoon.

Logistics: Reliable transport to/from Franschhoek and a valid driver's license.
