We are seeking a sales-focused Tasting Room & Deli Manager to oversee our tasting room and deli operations. This role is ideal for someone passionate about wine, artisanal food, and hospitality — with a strong drive to grow sales and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
The position runs Tuesday to Saturday (including some public holidays) with a basic salary plus commission.

Key Responsibilities
2.1. Sales & Brand Growth
- Drive wine and deli product sales, wine club memberships, and brand engagement
- Conduct professional wine tastings that convert visitors into loyal customers
- Collaborate with owners to develop sales strategies and identify growth opportunities
- Represent the brand at external events with the winemaker/owner
2.2. Tasting Room Operations
- Manage reservations, group tastings, and private events
- Oversee stock control, POS system, and daily sales reporting
- Maintain exceptional customer service and brand standards
2.3 Deli Operations
- Manage opening and closing procedures with operational handovers
- Coordinate and fulfil client orders efficiently
- Uphold health and safety standards across deli operations
2.4 Staff Management (Tasting Room & Deli)
- Lead a combined team of ±5 staff across tasting room and deli
- Recruit, train, and onboard new team members
- Plan and manage staff rosters and leave schedules
- Monitor performance, provide coaching, and manage morale
- Align staff with brand values and customer service standard
Requirements
- Wine Academy / WSET Level 2 in Wines (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in tasting room or wine hospitality management
- At least 1 year of management experience
- Strong wine knowledge and excellent communication skills
- Proven ability to deliver sales results and customer satisfaction
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- South African citizen
- Residing in Stellenbosch or surrounding areas
