Position: Cellar Assistant

Position overview:
The Cellar Assistant supports the winery team by carrying out day-to-day operational tasks required for the production, handling, and storage of wine. The role ensures that cellar operations are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with winery quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cellar operations including racking, transfers, pump-overs, punch-downs, filtration, and additions as directed.
- Assist with grape intake, crushing, pressing, and fermentation management during harvest.
- Prepare tanks, barrels, hoses, and equipment for winemaking operations.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the cellar and on all equipment.
- Assist with wine movements including blending, stabilization, and bottling preparation.
- Accurately follow work instructions provided by the Winemaker
- Record operational data and assist with basic cellar documentation where required.
- Ensure adherence to winery safety procedures and food safety standards.
- Support general cellar maintenance and organization.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a cellar environment
- Basic understanding of winery operations
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and working long hours during harvest.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
