Maintenance Technician
Location: Franschhoek
Department: Maintenance Hospitality & Direct-to-Consumer (DTC)
Reports to: Estate Manager
Type: Full-time, On-site
Position Overview
Responsible for supporting the maintenance team in ensuring that all facilities within the Estate are well-maintained, safe, and functional. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, assisting with repairs, and responding to maintenance requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, buildings, equipment, and facilities
- Troubleshoot faults and identify repair solutions
- Keep work areas clean and organised
- Respond to maintenance requests and breakdowns promptly
- Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural systems
- Assist with installations, renovations, and improvement projects
- Feedback from manager/supervisor
- Maintain swimming pools, pumps, and filtration systems where applicable
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance records
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Monitor stock levels of maintenance supplies and report shortages
- Adhere and live according to company values
- Overall presentation and hygiene
Candidate Profile
- Technical certification or trade qualification or 5-year experience in similar position
- Previous experience in maintenance within hospitality facilities maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Prior experience in maintenance, hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and general repair techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
