The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing high-value national retail accounts and serving as the primary commercial liaison between Vinimark and its key retail partners.

This role focuses on driving long-term business plans, executing commercial and promotional strategies, and building strong customer relationships across all decision-making levels. The role operates nationally, with accountability for both strategic direction and in-market execution.

Success requires strong commercial acumen, effective cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate insight into action that delivers measurable growth.

What you’ll be responsible for:  

Account Strategy & Commercial Delivery

  • Develop and execute annual Joint Business Plans aligned to customer and Vinimark objectives
  • Lead commercial negotiations across pricing, trade terms, and promotional planning
  • Identify opportunities to drive volume, revenue, and market share growth
  • Deliver accurate forecasting, performance tracking, and gap-closing plans

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers
  • Function as the primary point of contact for strategic engagement and issue resolution
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and planning sessions with customers

Trade Marketing & Execution

  • Collaborate with Trade Marketing to develop and implement customer-aligned campaigns
  • Ensure effective execution of product launches, promotions, and in-store activity
  • Monitor competitor activity and adjust strategies accordingly

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Brand Portfolio, Logistics, Finance, and Operations
  • Ensure internal alignment to deliver on customer commitments
  • Represent customer needs and priorities within the business

Data Analysis & Insight Generation

  • Analyse sales trends, category performance, and promotional effectiveness
  • Translate data into clear actions that improve performance
  • Provide regular reporting on account performance, risks, and opportunities

Operational Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to trading terms, pricing frameworks, and internal policies
  • Maintain pricing integrity and alignment across customers
  • Support structured and disciplined execution of commercial processes

Innovation & Business Development

  • Identify new opportunities for listings, range expansion, and customer initiatives
  • Drive innovation aligned to customer and brand strategies
  • Contribute to broader commercial and portfolio planning discussions

Skills and Experience

  • 5 - 7 years’ experience in key account or retail sales management
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of retail dynamics
  • Proven ability to manage and grow key accounts
  • Strong negotiation and influencing capability
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage competing priorities
  • Strong analytical and planning capability
  • Resilient and results-focused approach within a commercial environment.
