Waterford Estate in Stellenbosch is seeking a dynamic and experienced Events Manager to lead the planning and execution of premium events. This role is ideal for a highly organised, client-focused professional with strong commercial awareness and a passion for delivering exceptional experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute events from concept through to completion
  • Develop proposals, timelines, budgets, and operational plans
  • Manage all event logistics including suppliers, catering, décor, entertainment, and staffing
  • Drive event revenue, including associated wine sales
  • Coordinate off-site events in collaboration with Sales and Marketing teams

Client & Event Delivery

  • Build and maintain strong client and supplier relationships
  • Act as the primary point of contact during events
  • Oversee setup, execution, and breakdown
  • Resolve issues efficiently to ensure seamless delivery

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Prepare and manage event budgets and cost control
  • Track and report on event performance
  • Maintain accurate records, contracts, and event calendars
  • Compile post-event evaluations and insights

Business Development

  • Identify opportunities to grow the events portfolio
  • Support marketing and promotional initiatives
  • Contribute to achieving revenue targets

Working Conditions

  • Standard hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
  • Flexibility required for evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Time off in lieu may be granted, subject to operational needs

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role requiring flexibility and initiative. Responsibilities may evolve in line with business needs, and performance will be assessed during a probation period and ongoing employment.
