We are a small, specialised wine establishment in Stellenbosch who pride ourselves on crafting premium Bordeaux-style blends.
Our team is expanding and we are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented and naturally sales-driven individual to join our team as a Hospitality & Marketing Assistant. This is a hands-on, dynamic role suited to someone who thrives in a hospitality environment, has a personality for engagement and networking and is attentive to detail for administrative tasks. We’re looking for someone who is highly organized, reliable, and adaptable, with a positive attitude and a willingness to step in wherever needed. Excellent communication and administration skills, and a natural ability to make guests feel welcome are essential.
You will mainly be responsible for:
- assisting the Front of House Manager in the daily operations of the tasting room
- assisting the in-house Marketing Team with frequent trade-partner engagement (restaurants and shops) as well as ad hoc tasks
As an assistant to our Front of House Manager, you will compliment the role by welcoming guests, maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards, handling opening and closing procedures, handle shipping arrangements and ensuring that tastings are fully prepared for and executed. You will be attentive to and manage guest flow, assist hospitality operations (sometimes after hours), and play an active role in hosting professional tastings and enhancing the overall ambiance of our operations. Supplementary to the role involves, stock control and inventory management, assisting with ordering, organizing storage areas, ensuring supplies are consistently maintained, and you will handle basic filing and maintain ordering systems. You will support events, and corporate bookings by assisting with setup, coordinating logistics, preparing venues, and ensuring all details are in place for seamless execution. Additionally, you will oversee cottage readiness, ensuring high standards of presentation, functionality, and guest comfort.
As an assistant to our marketing department, you will have prominent involvement in trade relationship building and maintenance (i.e. restaurants and shops that stock our wines) by way of telecomms and/or trade visits under the guidance of our Marketing Coordinator. Supporting our Marketing Manager and Marketing Coordinator will further require assistance with ad hoc tasks as may be needed from time to time, such as printing, packaging, Canva designs, follow-ups, digital channel assistance, research, etc.
Requirements:
- Matric
- A course in business administration and/or hospitality will be advantageous
- At least 2 years of experience working in a similar or partially-similar environment
- Own transport
