Drie Fonteine, an exclusive, privately owned country estate set against the dramatic landscapes of Tulbagh, is seeking to appoint a sophisticated and service-driven hospitality manager to take full ownership of the guest experience and day-to-day hospitality operations.

With focus on understated luxury, curated experiences, and exceptional service, the estate offers a refined escape for discerning local and international guests. This role requires a balance of operational excellence, emotional intelligence, and an intuitive understanding of luxury hospitality.

The position will report to the Destination Manager, and you will be responsible for the following:

Guest experience & brand alignment

  • work alongside the destination manager to deliver the ultimate guest journey, ensuring every touchpoint reflects warmth, elegance, and attention to detail
  • deliver highly personalized service, anticipating guest needs before they arise
  • manage VIP and high-profile guests with professionalism and discretion
  • uphold and evolve the estate’s hospitality standards in line with luxury benchmarks 

Operations & estate presentation

  • oversee all front-of-house, housekeeping, and accommodation operations
  • ensure the estate is always immaculately presented, maintaining a “ready for arrival” standard
  • implement refined SOP’s aligned with boutique luxury hospitality practices
  • manage supplier relationships to ensure premium quality across all offerings

Curated experiences & events

  • execute bespoke guest experiences (wine tastings, private dining, seasonal activations)
  • oversee intimate events, exclusive functions, and small-scale luxury gatherings
  • collaborate with external partners to enhance the estate’s experiential offering

Team leadership & culture

  • lead, mentor, and inspire a small, high-performing hospitality team
  • instill a culture of pride, ownership, and service excellence
  • ensure staff presentation and conduct align with luxury service expectations

Commercial & administrative oversight

  • optimize occupancy, guest spend, and overall revenue performance
  • monitor budgets and manage costs without compromising quality
  • analyse guest feedback and operational data to drive continuous improvement
  • ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and regulatory standards

Experience & expertise

  • minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a luxury hospitality environment (boutique hotel, wine estate, or private lodge)
  • proven track record in delivering high-end guest experiences
  • strong operational management capability across multiple hospitality functions
  • experience hosting or coordinating premium events and private functions
  • own transport
