The Perdeberg Group, situated in the Paarl Wine region, has an exciting career opportunity available for a commercially driven International Sales Manager. This is a newly created position designed to strengthen the international commercial team and accelerate Perdeberg’s presence across key markets.

The role demands a self-starter with a genuine passion for wine, strong commercial instincts, excellent negotiation and communication skills, paired with the cultural agility to operate confidently across diverse global markets.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the successful candidate will take primary ownership of sales execution across assigned international and local markets, covering Perdeberg’s full range of bulk and packaged wine offerings.

KPA’s will include (but not be limited to): *Market Development & Sales Execution: Identify, open and grow new and existing markets across international territories; build and manage agent and distributor networks; execute brand plans; drive year-on-year growth in volume, value and profitability. *Sales Targets & Revenue Growth: Meet and exceed annual sales budgets across all assigned markets and channels; compile sales proposals, negotiate agreements and close new commercial opportunities; formulate strategies and annual forecasts per region. *Client Servicing & Partner Management: Maintain proactive communication with all agents, importers and key accounts; conduct regular client visits; compile and present business reviews; develop long-term relationships across all assigned markets. *Export Logistics & Trade Compliance: Working knowledge of Incoterms, export documentation and market-access requirements; liaise with logistics teams to ensure compliance and on-time delivery; stay current on IPW, Fairtrade, WIETA and Organic certification requirements. *Trade Marketing & Brand Representation: Develop and execute trade marketing plans per market; coordinate tastings, wine dinners and in-store activations; champion Perdeberg’s dry-land farming story and sustainability credentials as commercial differentiators; represent the brand at national and international trade shows and wine fairs. *Financial Reporting & CRM: Provide monthly sales reports and contribute to performance reviews; maintain sales dashboards and CRM records; manage debtors and demonstrate effective cost control across all assigned markets.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Degree in Commerce, Marketing, International Business or a related field;
  • Cape Wine Academy / WSET qualification advantageous;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in international wine or premium FMCG sales management, with a proven track record of closing export deals and managing distributor networks;
  • Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot or equivalent) and sales analytics tools;
  • Valid passport and Code B driver’s licence;
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
