Southern Farms is seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Manager to oversee and manage production activities relating to our Table Grape and Date operations. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of production to ensure excellent fruit quality and efficient operational performance in both production units and packhouse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
*Daily management of table grape and date production activities
*Plan and manage irrigation schedules and fertilization programs
*Personnel management and training
*Manage production budgets, operational cost and maintain accurate production records and reporting systems
*Coordinated harvesting activities with packhouse operations during harvest season
*Ensure quality standards are consistently achieved for export and local markets
*Work closely with management to improve productivity and operational efficiency
Requirements:
*Relevant qualification
*Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in fruit production management
*Strong knowledge of irrigation systems and fertilizing methods
*Good communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
*Computer skills
*Valid Driver’s license and willing to work and stay in a very remote area (+/- 80km from Augrabies, Northern Cape)
Package: Market related depending on experience. Housing on the farm.
