Farm Manager

Our client, a well-established wine farm situated on Kromme Rhee Road outside Stellenbosch, is seeking a hands-on Farm Manager to join their team. This opportunity is suited to a practical and reliable individual with strong vineyard and equipment experience, good people management skills, and the ability to work closely with farm workers and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the wine farm and vineyard activities.
• Manage and supervise farm workers and related labour activities.
• Operate and manage harvest machinery and tractors when required.
• Assist with general mechanical and maintenance tasks on farming equipment.
• Ensure vineyard spraying and fertiliser programmes are executed correctly using systems such as EPK and VITI/VITA.
• Monitor productivity, quality, and general farm standards.
• Coordinate harvesting and seasonal operational activities.
• Maintain compliance with safety and operational procedures.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar farm management or vineyard management role.
• Experience operating harvest machines and tractors is essential.
• Basic mechanical and maintenance knowledge.
• Experience working with EPK and VITA/VITI systems.
• Strong people management and communication skills.
• Ability to work hands-on within a farming environment.
• Valid driver’s licence.
