Cellar Worker: Bottling Plant

Breede River Valley Bottling (BBK) specializes in the bottling and packaging of wine and other beverages and currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Cellar Worker, to form part of its dynamic Cellar team.

Reporting to the Logistics Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Offloading inbound bulk wine to allocated tanks as indicated on daily offloading schedule received from Logistics Coordinator
  • Inspection of inbound bulk wine tankers
  • Determination of litres received in each bulk tank and ensuring that the relevant documentation is submitted for processing and filing
  • Dispatching of cleaning chemicals to various internal departments as required by internal quality systems
  • Conducting weekly stock-take of cleaning chemicals
  • Accurate recordkeeping aligned to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adherence to Health and Safety as well as Food Safety regulations and reporting any non-conformances to Logistics Coordinator

Successful candidates need to align to the following requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • 2 years’ experience working in a Cellar environment
  • Operational knowledge of Cellar equipment (e.g. offload pumps, spargers)
  • Basic knowledge of Food Safety and HACCP requirements
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Attention to detail
  • Numerical Acumen
  • Proactiveness and good time management
  • Willingness to work overtime
