Breede River Valley Bottling (BBK) specializes in the bottling and packaging of wine and other beverages and currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Cellar Worker, to form part of its dynamic Cellar team.
Reporting to the Logistics Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Offloading inbound bulk wine to allocated tanks as indicated on daily offloading schedule received from Logistics Coordinator
- Inspection of inbound bulk wine tankers
- Determination of litres received in each bulk tank and ensuring that the relevant documentation is submitted for processing and filing
- Dispatching of cleaning chemicals to various internal departments as required by internal quality systems
- Conducting weekly stock-take of cleaning chemicals
- Accurate recordkeeping aligned to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Adherence to Health and Safety as well as Food Safety regulations and reporting any non-conformances to Logistics Coordinator
Successful candidates need to align to the following requirements:
- Grade 12
- 2 years’ experience working in a Cellar environment
- Operational knowledge of Cellar equipment (e.g. offload pumps, spargers)
- Basic knowledge of Food Safety and HACCP requirements
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Attention to detail
- Numerical Acumen
- Proactiveness and good time management
- Willingness to work overtime
