Breede River Valley Bottling (BBK) specializes in the bottling and packaging of wine and other beverages and currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Filling Machine Operator, to form part of its dynamic Production team.
Reporting to the Line Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Allocate resources based on bottling programme (dry goods & wine services)
- Follow instructions on the job card to ensure that machine is operated optimally
- Basic trouble-shooting on machine and escalate any deviations to Line Manager
- Ensure that all documentation are completed aligned to Standard Operating Procedures
- Conform to Critical Control Point (CCP) procedures
- Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Ensure and maintain a safe working environment by reporting any deviations to the product and/or machine to the Line Manager
- Halt the line if any critical non-conformances occur
- Monitor machines proactively to reduce waste (e.g. dry goods and time)
Successful candidates need to align to the following requirements:
- Grade 12
- An N3 certificate in a relevant Technical skill will be advantageous
- 2 years’ experience operating a machine in a manufacturing environment
- Basic knowledge of Food Safety and HACCP requirements
- Basic maintenance knowledge
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Attention to detail
- Numerical Acumen
- Ability to plan, organize and multitask
- Willingness to work overtime
