Filling Machine Operator: Bottling Plant

Breede River Valley Bottling (BBK) specializes in the bottling and packaging of wine and other beverages and currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Filling Machine Operator, to form part of its dynamic Production team.

Reporting to the Line Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Allocate resources based on bottling programme (dry goods & wine services)
  • Follow instructions on the job card to ensure that machine is operated optimally
  • Basic trouble-shooting on machine and escalate any deviations to Line Manager
  • Ensure that all documentation are completed aligned to Standard Operating Procedures
  • Conform to Critical Control Point (CCP) procedures
  • Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Ensure and maintain a safe working environment by reporting any deviations to the product and/or machine to the Line Manager
  • Halt the line if any critical non-conformances occur
  • Monitor machines proactively to reduce waste (e.g. dry goods and time)

Successful candidates need to align to the following requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • An N3 certificate in a relevant Technical skill will be advantageous
  • 2 years’ experience operating a machine in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic knowledge of Food Safety and HACCP requirements
  • Basic maintenance knowledge
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Attention to detail
  • Numerical Acumen
  • Ability to plan, organize and multitask
  • Willingness to work overtime
