A Thoroughbred Stud farm in the Franschhoek area seeks to employ a highly organized, hardworking and enthusiastic individual, with excellent communication skills in the abovementioned position.
Duties include:
- Financial Administration - Handling invoicing, monthly accounts and wage timebooks
- Preparing paperwork for studbooks, foal registrations, passports, sales, etc.
- Assisting the Stud Manager with equine and general administration
- Staff administration – record leave, update rosters, book appointments
- Occupational Health and Safety - Implementing existing policies and procedures, create awareness and provide training (toolbox talks)
- Environmental Impact (ISO) - Implementing existing policies and procedures
- Events and Functions – coordinate logistics, catering, and invitations with the Hospitality Team
- Handling / preparing correspondence – answering calls / handling queries
- Writing reports – typing documents / minute taking / preparing presentations if needed, taking dictation, assisting with writing letters / drawing up contracts if needed
- General office administration – filing, booking travel, ordering stationery / office equipment
- Managing Diary – book and organize meetings
Requirements
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Excellent communication skills (must be fluent in English & Afrikaans), good writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- High capacity to multi-task particularly during the breeding season
- Must have own transport
- 3 years’ experience in an office environment
- Tertiary Qualification - Office Administration Diploma / Certificate
Previous experience working in the thoroughbred breeding industry and with an interest in the thoroughbred breeding and/or racing industry is advantageous.
Start date: Immediately / July 2026
Salary: Market Related
