Stellenbosch wine company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and is passionate about maintaining accurate financial records while supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform bank reconciliations.
  • Manage petty cash transactions and reconciliations.
  • Process and reconcile company credit card transactions.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable, including:
  • Raising customer and tenant invoices.
  • Sending account statements.
  • Following up on overdue accounts and collections.
  • Manage Accounts Payable, including:
  • Capturing supplier invoices.
  • Reconciling supplier accounts.
  • Resolving supplier queries.
  • Prepare and load supplier and other payments.
  • Perform VAT reconciliations.
  • Process monthly payroll accurately and on time
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and submit SARS statutory returns, including VAT, EMP, and Excise where applicable.
  • Complete month-end processing.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports to assist sales and marketing.
  • Assist with audit preparation, journal processing, and year-end financial requirements.
  • Provide administrative and finance support to the broader business as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Accounting related degree/qualification
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role.
  • Experience using Xero Accounting will be advantageous but not essential.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
  • Experience with payroll processing and statutory submissions.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
  • Professional, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality.
