Doran Vineyards is a multi-dimensional working farm in the Voor Paardeberg, Paarl, combining vineyards, field crops and livestock under one regenerative focussed farming philosophy. We farm with the long-term health of our soil, water and ecosystems in mind, and we're looking for a Farm Manager who shares that vision and wants to help shape the next chapter of our farm.
The Role
We're looking for a Farm Manager to lead the day-to-day running of our operation across vineyards, fields and livestock, managing a team of up to 15 farm workers. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll be out on the land as much as you're planning from the office, coaching your team, and with the help of a viticulture consultant making the calls that keep a regenerative, multi-enterprise farm progressing year on year.
We're especially keen to hear from young, energetic candidates who are hungry to learn and ready to step up and lead — this is a genuine opportunity to grow into senior farm management. Equally, we welcome more experienced managers looking for a new challenge and a farm where regenerative practice is central, not an afterthought.
12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Possible Extension
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee day-to-day operations across vineyards, field crops and livestock
• Lead, roster and develop a team of up to 15 farm workers
• Apply and champion regenerative farming principles across all enterprises
• Plan and manage seasonal vineyard and field activities (pruning, planting, harvest, cover cropping, etc.)
• Oversee livestock health, grazing management and integration with cropping systems
• Manage farm budgets, input planning and equipment/maintenance schedules
• Monitor soil, water and land health, and report on regenerative outcomes
• Liaise with ownership on farm strategy, performance and priorities
What We're Looking For
Essential:
• Proven hands-on experience across vineyards, field crops and livestock
• Experience leading, motivating, managing and championing the team
• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to work alongside your team
• Genuine interest in, or experience with, regenerative farming principles
• Valid driver's licence
Beneficial:
• Winemaking experience or knowledge
We're open on experience level: this role could suit someone early in their management career looking for a first step into senior leadership, or a more experienced farm manager seeking a new challenge. What matters most is energy, curiosity and a genuine commitment to regenerative practice.
What We Offer
• 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension
• Competitive salary, dependent on experience
• On-site farm cottage/accommodation
• The chance to lead a team and make a real, visible impact on a regenerative, multi-dimensional farm
• Room to grow into a senior farm management role
