DGB is seeking a highly skilled and commercially astute Premium Wine Account Executive to act as custodian and ambassador of the DGB Prestige Portfolio within the Western Cape luxury hospitality and fine dining environment.

This role is focused on driving premium brand visibility, commercial growth, and long-term brand equity across high-end on-trade, specialist retail, corporate, and lifestyle channels. The successful candidate will be deeply embedded in the premium wine and hospitality space, with the ability to influence key decision-makers including sommeliers, chefs, hospitality executives, and affluent consumers through storytelling, strategic partnerships, and world-class wine experiences.

Duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to): *Drive growth and visibility of the DGB Prestige Portfolio across premium on-trade, specialist retail, luxury hospitality, and lifestyle channels *Increase wine list penetration, distribution, and premium brand presence *Secure and maintain placements on tasting and pairing menus in leading restaurants and fine dining establishments *Develop and expand the Corporate Channel through new business development and strategic partnerships *Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Winemaking teams on new vintage launches and brand execution *Support regional sales teams through trade visits, customer engagements, and presentations *Gather and report market intelligence including competitor activity and customer trends *Deliver against agreed KPIs aligned to commercial and portfolio growth targets *Facilitate wine training, masterclasses, and brand education for internal and external stakeholders.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

  • WSET Level 3 or equivalent wine qualification (essential);
  • Degree or diploma in Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar premium/luxury sales or wine role;
  • Strong commercial acumen and proven business development capability;
  • Experience in premium event execution and hospitality relationship management;
  • Strong presentation, communication, and public speaking skills;
  • Digitally savvy with understanding of social media and brand positioning;
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable, insured motor vehicle;
  • Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English); Third language advantageous;
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings when required.
