Founded in 1682, Blaauwklippen is one of South Africa’s oldest wine estates and a vibrant Stellenbosch destination for wine, hospitality, retail and guest experiences.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Blaauwklippen is looking for a customer-focused, hands-on Bartender to join our Tasting House team and help deliver a warm, professional beverage experience. The role involves preparing and serving wines, coffees and other beverages to a high standard while supporting smooth tasting and restaurant operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and serve wines, coffees and other beverages in line with company standards.
  • Assist Wine Ambassadors, waitering staff and guests with beverage service as required.
  • Support tasting and restaurant operations, including service, setup, clearing and stock replenishment.
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Keep the beverage preparation area clean, organised, hygigreatenic and well-stocked.
  • Carry out manual duties such as lifting, carrying and moving stock, crates, bottles, supplies, umbrellas and tables.
  • Follow health, safety, hygiene and responsible service standards.
  • Assist with reasonable duties as required and uphold Blaauwklippen’s code of conduct, values and service standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a bartending, barista or food and beverage service environment preferred.
  • A bartending, barista or responsible alcohol service certification will be advantageous.
  • Physically fit and able to perform the manual requirements of the role, including lifting and carrying stock.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, after hours and shifts in line with operational requirements.
  • South African citizen.
  • Clear criminal record.
