An established premium wine estate in the Franschhoek Valley is seeking an experienced Hospitality Excellence Manager to oversee its hospitality operations and ensure an exceptional guest experience.
The successful candidate will report to the Global Sales and Marketing Manager.
Key responsibilities:

Oversee daily restaurant, tasting centre and kitchen operations.

Lead, schedule, train and support the hospitality team.

Maintain high standards of guest service, food quality, wine presentation and facility appearance.

Manage reservations, guest flow, queries and complaints.
-
Oversee stock control, purchasing, suppliers, wastage and cost of sales.

Assist with menu, tasting experience, pricing and seasonal offering development.

Manage hospitality budgets, expenditure and profitability targets.

Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, liquor licence and other relevant requirements.

Maintain accurate operational and financial records and prepare management reports.

Support events, functions, trade visits and premium guest experiences.

Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to promote the hospitality offering.
Skills and competencies:
-
Strong knowledge of restaurant, tasting room and kitchen operations.
-
Excellent leadership, organisational and people-management skills.
-
Strong guest relations, communication and problem-solving abilities.
-
Commercial awareness with experience in budgeting, stock control and cost management.
-
Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
-
Proficiency in point-of-sale and reservation systems; Pilot experience is advantageous.

Computer literate, including Microsoft Office.
Knowledge and experience:
-
Relevant tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Management or a related field.

Minimum 5 years’ hospitality experience, including supervisory or management experience.

Experience managing restaurant or food-and-beverage operations.
-
Wine estate, tasting room or premium hospitality experience is advantageous.
-
Good local and international wine knowledge is advantageous.
-
Knowledge of food safety, health and safety and liquor legislation.

Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport.
