Zevenwacht Wine Estate is looking for a warm, confident, honest, and dependable Wine Tasting Ambassador to join our tasting-room team.
This is a guest-facing position for someone who genuinely enjoys wine, people and sales, and who can create a memorable experience for both local and international visitors.
REQUIREMENTS
At least 1–2 years’ experience in a wine-tasting room, wine estate, restaurant or hospitality environment
Good knowledge of South African wine and a genuine desire to continue learning
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A warm, confident and engaging personality
Strong sales ability without compromising the guest experience
Professional appearance and excellent personal presentation
Honest, reliable and accurate when working with money and stock
Ability to work independently and contribute positively to a team
Comfortable working weekends, public holidays and during busy seasonal periods
Reliable transport to and from Zevenwacht
A WSET, Cape Wine Academy or similar wine qualification will be advantageous
Additional languages will be advantageous
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct engaging, informative and professional wine tastings
Share the Zevenwacht story and communicate information about our wines confidently
Welcome guests and deliver warm, attentive and personalised hospitality
Recommend and sell wines according to guests’ preferences
Contribute towards tasting-room sales targets
Serve tasting-room food and beverage offerings
Process sales and payments accurately using the point-of-sale system
Assist with stock control, cash-ups and general administration
Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming tasting-room environment
Encourage wine purchases, repeat visits and positive guest relationships
Work closely with the wider hospitality, wine and restaurant teams
This is a full-time position.
