The Opportunity
Warwick Wine Estate is appointing a Housekeeping & Facilities Worker. The role keeps the main house and its outdoor areas, the pool house and the four estate offices clean, hygienic and presentable to a set schedule, carries the household laundry and linen, handles cleaning materials safely at every site, and supports the day-to-day care of the household pets.
What You'll Do
- Main House Cleaning & Hygiene
- Cleaning and resetting the main house to the agreed schedule, keeping bathrooms, toilets and kitchen surfaces sanitised and the house presentable throughout the day.
- Outdoor Areas & Pool Surrounds
- Keeping the patios, walkways, braai area and pool surrounds swept, clean and clear, and resetting the outdoor furniture.
- Laundry & Linen
- Washing, ironing and putting away the household laundry and linen, and making up beds to the required standard.
- Pool House
- Cleaning and resetting the pool house on the scheduled cycle, with clean towels and linen in place and consumables restocked.
- Estate Offices
- Cleaning the administration office daily and the farm, cellar and logistics offices on the scheduled cycle, including their kitchens and bathrooms.
- Windows, Glass & Work at Height
- Cleaning windows and glass at every site.
- Cleaning Materials & Stock
- Keeping cleaning materials and consumables in stock at every site, and storing and using chemicals and equipment safely.
- Household Pets & Access Control
- Securing and settling the household pets during the working day, and admitting only expected service providers while taking care of the keys and access means issued.
Who You Are & What You’ll Need
- Able to read a cleaning schedule, product labels and safety data sheets, and to dilute products as instructed.
- Experience in housekeeping or commercial cleaning, and in laundry and ironing, is advantageous.
- Willing to work among the household pets, and to handle and secure them.
- Able to work at height, from a step ladder and from a man-cage.
- Reliable, with consistent attendance, and able to work without close supervision.
- Discreet: the position works inside a private home and in offices holding confidential information.
- Trustworthy with keys, access and property, and willing to report a breakage or loss rather than conceal it.
- Safe in the handling of cleaning chemicals, and prompt in reporting defects, shortages and incidents.
- Identity verification and contactable references are required.
- Own transport, or own arrangements to travel to and from the estate.
