The Hospitality Maintenance Assistant is responsible for supporting the maintenance team in ensuring that all facilities within the Estate are well-maintained, safe, and functional. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, assisting with repairs, and responding to maintenance requests.

Location: Franschhoek
Department: Maintenance Hospitality & Direct-to-Consumer (DTC)
Reports to: Estate Manager
Type: Full-time, On-site

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing preventative maintenance on all equipment, appliances, and fixtures within the hospitality facility.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, common areas, and external premises to identify maintenance needs.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, addressing issues in a timely manner.
  • Support the maintenance team in executing repairs for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas and storage.
  • Assist with seasonal setups or maintenance tasks as required
  • Report any major repairs or safety concerns to the maintenance supervisor.
  • Assist with the inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that maintenance activities cause minimal disruption to guests and operations.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.

Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in maintenance, hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and general repair techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
