Requirements:
Senior Certificate and a tertiary qualification in Viticulture or a related field.
Valid driver’s license with own reliable vehicle to & from the workplace (no accommodation provided)
Minimum of 3 years working experience in vineyards and farming environment within wine production.
Firm knowledge of grape cultivation, vineyard and harvesting processes.
Experience in organic agriculture will be of advantage.
Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on approach in the vineyards and farming activities on the estate.
Ability to work under pressure in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
Fluent in English with good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead, motivate and work effectively as part of a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and general administrative duties
Flexible and committed during critical periods such as harvest and peak season periods.
Duties include but not limited to:
Actively involved in day-to-day vineyard activities (maintenance and supervision).
Actively involved in day-to-day farm and estate activities (maintenance and supervision).
Aim to produce quality grapes & wine on schedule.
Liaise with the cellar team regarding grape maturity, harvesting schedules and delivery of grapes.
Maintain accurate administrative records of all vineyard and farming activities.
Ensure equipment, tools and machinery are properly maintained, serviced and safely used.
Participation in monthly reporting, budget & cashflow forecasting and inventory management.
Assist with the management of sub-contractors and service providers working on the farm.
Lead and supervise teams.
Applying health & safety regulations in applicable work areas.
Participate in compliance and industry related audits.
Providing support function to cellar & other departments.
