Delheim Wines is looking for a motivated, hardworking and reliable Cellar Assistant to join our cellar team. A team player with a positive attitude, attention to detail and a willingness to learn and develop within the wine industry.
The successful candidate will assist with daily cellar operations, forklift duties and ensure that all cellar activities are carried out efficiently, safely and according to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily cellar operations and general cellar work.
- Assist with receiving, handling and processing grapes during harvest.
- Operate a forklift safely to move wine, pallets, packaging materials and other cellar stock.
- Clean and sanitise tanks, equipment, hoses and cellar areas.
- Maintain good housekeeping and hygiene standards throughout the cellar.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
- Assist the winemaking team with other cellar duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid forklift operator’s licence/certificate is essential.
- Previous cellar or wine industry experience will be an advantage – 1 to 2 years.
- Knowledge of cellar operations and hygiene practices will be beneficial.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends and shifts during harvest when required.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, hardworking and safety conscious.
