We are a well-established restaurant located on a scenic wine farm in the Cape Winelands, seeking a skilled and dedicated waitron to join our front-of-house team.

Position Details:

This is a full-time role for an experienced waitron who thrives in a high-paced restaurant environment, catering to 80+ guests per shift.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English with strong communication skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a waitron
  • Resides in or around the Somerset West area
  • Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their dining experience
  • Take and accurately communicate food and beverage orders to the kitchen and bar
  • Provide menu recommendations and confidently advise guests on daily specials and wine pairings
  • Serve food and beverages efficiently and professionally
  • Ensure tables are properly set before service and cleared and reset between guests
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the dining area throughout the shift
  • Process payments accurately via cash, card, or EFT
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the menu, including ingredients and allergens
  • Engage with guests to ensure they have an enjoyable experience and address any concerns promptly
  • Communicate guest feedback, special requests, or issues to the relevant team members
  • Support colleagues as needed, especially during busy shifts

Education & Qualifications:

  • Relevant training or equivalent professional experience
