Tasting Room & Deli Manager

Eagles’ Nest Wines, located in the historic Constantia Valley is seeking to appoint a motivated and competent manager to its team to manage the Tasting Room and Deli offering of this popular wine estate.

Minimum 2 years working experience in the hospitality industry would be a required to be considered for this position. The successful candidate needs to be proficient in English and willing to work some weekends & public holidays.

 Job Description:

We are looking for someone to run a busy Tasting Room, which is focused on the tasting and sales of our premium range of wines, complimented by casual garden style dining via our popular Cheese & Charcuterie platters. The successful candidate does not get flustered easily and thinks quickly on their feet. Someone who takes initiative and has confidence to make and justify their decisions. The Tasting Room Manager will lead and direct the Tasting Room Ambassadors and Kitchen team. He / She will run the floor, sales team, be the front face of Eagles’ Nest for the public and will have administration tasks to uphold.

 Personal Characteristics:

Passionate about wine and food and/or hospitality management. Organised, approachable and motivated. Ability to relate and communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds. Accuracy and attention to detail. Capacity to take initiative yet has the ability to work well within a team. Ability to work well under pressure. Display patience and empathy toward staff members and patrons.

 Job Requirements:

The successful candidate has a customer centred approach. This position requires frequent client and staff interaction and communication. Someone who works well under pressure and can keep a calm demeanour whilst handling all operational requirements with a smile. The basic competencies required to carry out the responsibilities of this manager include excellent communication, leadership, relationship building and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the best practices and procedures for customer service, hospitality management, restaurant operations and motivating workers are particularly useful. Will oversee the Tasting Room & Platter offering on behalf of the Brand Manager. Must have knowledge of food & wine, stock management, costing/pricing, and related hospitality management skills

Hospitality degree / diploma would be favourable to your application. Must have own reliable transport and driver’s license.
