Live -out position

Market related salary

Working hours 08:00 – 17:00 possibly one or two evening functions per month

Core function of the position

To have extensive food knowledge and passion for producing delicious food on a consistent basis. All dishes have to be planned prepared and cooked to the wine i.e. in sympathy to the wine structure, flavor profile and concentration levels.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes and experience


Valid South African work permit

Own transport essential

A willingness to lead a small team of staff to create well-crafted dishes excitingly presented

A minimum of 3 years cooking experience in a medium sized kitchen

International experience in a 5-star establishment advantageous

Experience in fine dining restaurant with a la carte service

Extensive food knowledge is required

Ability to cook innovative and modern dishes at the highest standard

Guest focused Chef role as guest interaction is required

Good interpersonal skills both verbal and written

Understanding of kitchen procedure and timing requirements

Excellent planning and organizational skills.

Understanding of health and hygiene issues, safety procedures and the use of fire- fighting equipment and first aid training
