Junior Sous Chef required for STELLENBOSCH based Bakery

Well known Stellenbosch based bakery requires a Junior Sous Chef to join the team.

This is a daytime restaurant on a wine estate with fantastic working hours in a fun and upbeat environment. A sought after position as we are not open evenings with a breakfast and lunch offerings only! Two days off every week in winter and season. General working hours will be from 7:30 – 17:00.

Seeking an experienced, hardworking, enthusiastic individual to join our team as Junior Sous Chef. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, fluent in English, well-spoken, passionate about food & wine, be a creative and goal driven individual with a strong work ethic and above all a team player.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Menu execution in-line with the standards already set by Head chef
• Excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
• Sound knowledge of best cooking practices
• Tertiary Culinary Qualification a prerequisite
• Enforcing and maintaining strict health and hygiene standards

The right candidate must have own transport, good communication skills, have contactable references, sober habits and must experience in a similar position.
