Main function

To coordinate the national and international distribution of bottled wines and the administration with regards to distribution of stock.

Key responsibilities

  1. Stock control of bottled wine
  • Monitor stock availability in warehouses weekly
  • Update stock sheets weekly or monthly as per requirement
  • Evaluate stock against sales orders and supply requirements
  • Identify stock shortages and arrange for stock replenishment
  • Monitor stock to ensure first in first out principles are applied and older vintages are sold out
  • Monitor system and PBLM invoicing for correct pricing
  • Update system with amended prices on a ad hoc and annual basis
  • Report on stock availability to other departments internally and attend to stock queries
  1. Coordinate local and international distribution of bottled wine
  • Process sales orders received on accounting and procurement systems
  • Allocate orders against stock at warehouses
  • Liaise with clients regarding stock availability and delivery arrangements (local)
  • Liaise with sales personnel regarding stock availability and delivery requirements (international)
  • Liaise with warehouse for correct container and pallet packaging to meet export shipment requirements
  • Arrange product reworks for international export
  • Instruct and liaise with transporters regarding collection and delivery of stock
  • Prepare transport documentation
  • Prepare and arrange pre shipping samples including mockups
  • Collecting Bill of Lading,
  • Attend to any problems or delays in the distribution process
  • Verify delivery by obtaining proof of delivery
  1. Samples national and international
  • Liaise with Client Relations Officer regarding samples required
  • Identify courier service to use based on cost and delivery requirements
  • Instruct and liaise with courier service regarding delivery
  • Report on delivery progress and attend to queries in the delivery process
  1. Administration
  • Purchase orders of suppliers,
  • Managing Chep finance system,
  • CDS reconciliations,
  • Reconcile SAWIS and Excise accounts,
  • Reconcile transport cost accounts on national and international deliveries,
  • Sales orders and sales check between PBL and Wines
  • Check SAWIS bulk wine litres vs Excise
  • Timeously complete tenders.
  • Assist the Senior Logistics Coordinator in the completion of her tasks on a ad hoc basis

Minimum requirements

  1. Grade 12 certificate
  2. Financial Accounting/ Logistics qualification would be advantageous
  3. 3 - 5 years’ working experience in a logistics role
  4. Advanced MS Excel and Pastel/Palladium (or similar accounting package)
  5. Own transport to company premises in Agter-Paarl

  • Good verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans
