The Wine Room is a niche company providing an upmarket full turn-key solution for private and commercial wine cellars in South Africa and internationally, including full custom design, manufacturing and install. We have a team of architects; interior designers; 3d designers and projects managers in Cape Town and Johanessburg who run our projects from start to finish. The Wine Room covers all technical aspects of wine cellars including refrigerated climate control solutions; insulation; vapor barrier; as well as cellar-graded glazing and lighting solutions. The Wine Room partners with Spiral Cellars in the UK, who have over 35 years experience in providing wine cellars to the UK and European Market. The Wine Room also retails a full range of wine cellar and bar-related appliances and accessories; all available online via our website.



The Wine Room is looking for a dynamic and experienced sales person to join our team in a full time sales and procurement position; initially desk-based and in time with more experience as a field client sales advisor.



  • To handle new enquiries coming in; following up on enquiries and booking site visits
  • Send out sales information to new clients
  • Conduct sales of appliances and wine accessories to new customers
  • Process web orders with clients
  • Liaise with suppliers; process purchase orders and follow up on payments
  • Build relationships with suppliers
  • Work between Outlook, xcel and potentially Netsuite to co-ordinate client information
  • Undertake measurements on site and record these logically and correctly
  • Conduct client consultations for bespoke wine cellar projects
  • Compile and communicate all costs to clients including both high level ballparks and detailed costings
  • Compile client estimates for custom projects
  • Compile design packs for custom projects in powerpoint



  • Min 5 years experience in sales or related fields
  • Preferable experience also in procurement
  • Experience in design-related fields a bonus e.g. the construction / building / interiors industry
  • Tertiary degree a requirement
  • Experienced in MS word, xcel, powerpoint, outlook
  • Knowledge of Pastel a bonus
  • Experienced in compiling costs and budgets
  • Drivers license and own vehicle
  • SA resident or valid work permit
  • Cape Town based
  • Willing to travel locally and if needed in South Africa


Our customers are extremely high net worth individuals, living in luxury homes. Therefore the candidate will need to have excellent communication skills, be well presented and have a polite and customer service attitude.
