Logistics Administrator - Fruit Industry - Durbanville

Requirements:

• Matric / National Senior Certificate.
• Tertiary Qualification in Logistics or similar.
• Minimum of 2 years similar working experience in the exports of perishable cargo.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive, hands-on and the ability to use initiative.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Advanced MS Excel skills required).
• Good mathematical skills.
• Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and with constantly changing deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
• Knowledge of stock management systems i.e., Prophet, Paltrack or similar will be an advantage.
• Willing to work overtime and on weekends when required.

Key areas of performance (full job description to be discussed during an interview):

• Verify all orchard numbers, CBS status and Phytclean verification
• Prepare special market labels and send to stakeholders
• Receive pre-allocated references, prepare, and send the loading instructions  to all stakeholders
• Arrange transfer and manage communication of pallets between cold stores and the local market as requested by sales.
• Checking for stock validations in the software system and making corrections daily.
• Maintain and update industry codes
• Ensuring correct set-up of the company’s FTP site and communicate this to all growers.
• Dealing with pallet queries from clients and traders and advising/investigating on discrepancies.
• Allocate stock according to instructions received from sales.
• Tracking trucks allocated for loading and communicate to stakeholders.
• Coordinate loading schedule and vessel bookings with sales
