Tasting Room and Deli Manager - NA

Wine estate in Wellington is looking for a dynamic Tasting Room and Deli manager.

The main purpose of the role is the effective management of the tasting room and deli as well as promoting wine sales.


- 3-5 years in a similar position
- A passion for wine and the industry

Key Responsibilities:

  • Always ensure that the highest service standards are maintained
  • Manage daily business functions:
    • Manage opening and closing procedures
    • Ensuring all cash ups are done timeously and accurately
    • Ensure daily stock takes are done and balancing and investigating any discrepancies
    • Ensure POS systems are up to date with current inventory
    • Maintain a clean and orderly tasting room at all time
    • Performs daily reconciliation of wine, food and merchandise
  • Manage, coach and develop team members on an ongoing basis
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are being implemented
  • Do monthly wages
  • Ordering of stock and the accurate management of the stock
  • Create monthly staffing work calendar
  • Conduct staff meetings
  • Track incentive and revenue  goals
  • Update and maintain the tasting room menus
  • Actively ensure good communication between all departments
  • Promotions to increase sales
  • Book and handle tastings – individuals, small groups and larger groups.
  • Liaise with outside contacts (tourism, media, hotels) to ensure regular tastings.

Working Hours:

-5 days per week – 08:00 – 17:00

-These 5 days can fall on a Saturday or Sunday from where 2 days will be given off during the week.

-Off-site tastings as needed, where time off in lieu will be given if it falls outside of regular business hours.
