Job purpose: Responsible for managing, designing, developing, coordinating, and conducting all training and safety programmes.                                                           


KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS

  • Evaluate employee performance and gauge were skills or knowledge needs improvement.
  • Communicate with managers to identify training needs and map out development plans for teams and individuals.
  • Train new employees on company induction, policies, and procedures.
  • Create training schedules for all departments, track and reports on outcomes.
  • Design and develop training programmes (outsourced and/or in-house)
  • Use known education principles and stay up to date on new training methods and techniques.
  • Design, prepare and order educational aids and materials.
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs.
  • Manage training budget.
  • Administer and manage the Health & Safety system.
  • Create, maintain, and update safety manuals and safety file.
  • Coordinate all health and safety training and promote a positive health and safety culture in the workplace.
  • Responsible for monthly H&S meetings, including the development of the Agenda, and documenting of meeting minutes.
  • Responsible for ensuring contractor adherence to health and safety requirements.
  • Ensuring contractor agreements are in place and revised accordingly for all projects undertaken on site
  • Ensure the efficient distribution of internal and external HSE alerts.
  • Responsible for summarising all findings as noted by the H&S representatives on checklists to be discussed during monthly committee meetings.
  • Ensure the appointments of relevant trained employees are in place and renewed accordingly.                        

 REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant experience and/or qualifications

 COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

  • Be able to plan and organise well
  • Possess good communication skills (languages: English, Swati and/or any other)
  • Data gathering and analysis skills
  • Proficient in problem analysis and problem solving
  • Possess good judgement, be a team player and be adaptable
  • Good presentation, facilitation and coaching skills
