our client, a group of companies focussing on citrus, wine & hospitality based in ashton, is looking to appoint a hr specialist to their team.

the goal of this appointment is to take responsibility for the statutory obligations, the development of the workforce and the general wellbeing of the overall team.  not only will this position be instrumental in the application of the legal obligations from both the employer and employee point of view, you will deal with all internal enquiries and provide advice and guidance on all personnel related matters.

duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

personnel

maintain all documents relevant to their employ

ensures that information received from new employees is complete and all necessary documentation attached

confirm employment of employees to external institutions

employee contracts.

induction of new staff

exit interview and termination of staff

correlate and submit expense claims on a monthly basis – salary staff

 

training and development (citrus / wine / hospitality)

responsible for the administration of training

compilation of training budget

meet all bee requirements through training.

educates staff on matters relating to human resource policies and procedures and conditions of service

 

health and safety

maintain file and arrange all administration surrounding health and safety.

facilitate the ordering of all protective clothing as per health and safety requirements

 

other

employment equity (ee) facilitation i.e scheduling and chairing quarterly meetings.

ccma – understand the requirements, the process and confident to appear on behalf of the organisation.

 

this position will suit a confident, yet empathetic, individual who has the ability to deal with staff in a fair, consistent and helpful manner. you will be systematic with strong focus on administration, detail and the creation of a supportive environment for all stakeholders.  the position will have access to a labour consultant for issues that need further support.
