Our client is an established producer and exporter of citrus and table grapes with production units and pack houses in the Western, and Southern Cape regions. The vacancy of Packing Material Manager at their Head Office is available immediately.

 The ideal candidate, who will report to the Senior Marketing Manager, will be responsible for the coordination and controlling of all administration and logistics functions involving ordering, delivery and general control of the packing material stock of citrus and table grapes. This will be done to ensure that the correct stock is available at relevant units, at all times, as required by marketing.

 The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Arrange the number of pallets, cartons, bags, punnets and labels that producers will need as per harvest estimate and pack instructions.
  • Arrange dispatch of client specific stock to farm/ pack house units with couriers.
  • Coordinate and monitor the delivery process of packing material between suppliers/producers and farm/pack house units.
  • Ensure that all administrative/ financial control documents are received and captured as soon as possible.
  • Arrange invoicing to clients.
  • Continuously monitor and manage client specific stock levels at farms and bulk store.
  • Handle all packaging enquiries


 Grade 12 or relevant tertiary qualification and at least three to four years’ proven experience of packing material management in the citrus and/or table grape industry.

The ideal candidate is highly structured, and systems driven, has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to plan and prioritise.

 A market related total cost to company package is offered with pension fund benefits.
