Priam Vineyards  is an International Gold Medal Winning Winery - Berlin, Germany, NYC, San Francisco among others. Our winemaker is from Western Vape. Our operation consists of a vineyard, winery and an event center. We are looking for a manager to work hands on as well as work with department heads of the three businesses. We are a 40-acre operation with approximately 12,000 vines and are looking to add a full time Farm Manager to our operation. Our company has been in business for 21 years and a strong history of excellence. We have just tripled the size of our tasting room and doubled our production space. We are growing at double digits every year for the last 5 and are looking to accelerate that rate.

This is a full time position with the opportunity to get a permanent work Visa for the USA and Citizenship if interested.  OUr Vineyard is in the state of Connecticut 2 hours from New York City and 1.5 hours from Boston.  It is in a small town 20 minutes from the capital/

We are looking for an experienced Farm Manager to oversee our farm operations. Our company has a great reputation in the. The experienced Farm Manager will have strengths in viticulture, equipment management, repair, planting, disease control, harvesting, garden planning and operations and an eye toward making a profit. Winemaking is a plus but not essential. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing all farm activities as well as helping out in the vineyard, winery and with the wedding operations. You will work with a world level wine person as well as a smart estate manager. This is a hands-on job as well as coordinating with other managers.

The duties range from working in the field on pruning during the season with the vineyard manager. Coordinating the collection of fruit during the harvest, working in the fields and leading by example. Learning from the winemaker about making wine and making sure equipment is maintained and repaired. Hands on operations of the events/weddings which requires approximately 18 nights a year of being on site during the event to make sure equipment is functioning. Meeting with owners to oversee the continued double digit growth of the operations sales. You are experienced with tools and tractors and have basic equipment maintenance or fixing knowledge.

The manager will pitch in physically to make sure the operation is in tip top shape and understand when to delegate and when to pick up a shovel or hammer.

SOME OF THE FARM MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Farm safety
-Training
-Working alongside of and strategizing with the heads of each area
-Operations Decisions
-Field Work Supervision
-Collaborate with management to purchase and negotiate farm supplies, chemicals, fertilizer, sprays etc.
-Equipment Maintenance
-Chemical Storage oversight
-Application and Mixing of Chemicals
-Maintain detailed harvest records
-Record of all spray, pesticde, application, harvest, planting schedules
-Ability to multi-task

FARM MANAGER REQUIREMENTS:

-3+ years of Farm Management experience vineyards a plus
-Experience with all farm machinery including spraying, tractors, and other PTO add ons.
-Vineyard Experience
-Commercial/Conventional Growing Experience
-Interfacing with the Public
