Sales And Marketing Manager (Alto Wine Estate) - Market related

ALTO WINE ESTATEsituated in the Stellenbosch region is recruiting a dynamic, ambitious, energetic, and motivated SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER, who will take overall responsibility for the Sales and Marketing function of ALTO WINES local and also internationally.


Duties and responsibilities:


  • Develops business plans for marketing, sales, and brand management
  • Proactive and Reactive management of ALTO Wines


  • Overall budgeting responsibility for marketing, sales and brand management of ALTO WINES


  • Identify and develop new business opportunities linked to production plan
  • Manage all license relationships, including target setting


  • Manage all international and domestic sales channels
  • Provide the Estate Manager and Board with a monthly sales report covering all sales channels
  • Prepare a Board Report for Board meetings covering all sales and marketing activities
  • Coordinate the Christmas promotions for retail in all markets
  • Drive targets of the sales and marketing teams to ensure these targets are met.
  • Management of the following personnel: Brand Manager


  • Maintaining brand integrity and driving brand evolution through all marketing, communication and packaging
  • The responsibilities include international travel and entertainment of agents.
  • Manage marketing platforms alongside the Brand Manager
    • All digital platforms: website, social media, newsletter etc.
    • Advertising
    • Public Relations
    • All collateral
    • CRM and database functions
    • Marketing shows and competitions
    • All events, promotions, and brand activations
    • Manage sponsorships and strategic partnerships
    • WOSA, Stellenbosch Wine Routes etc
    • Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives

Qualifications and experience:

B Com Marketing or related degree

10 years’ experience in a similar role, preferable in the wine industry.


Skills and competencies required:

Excellent Planning and organising; Business Development; Problem solving and decision making; Strategic and Commercial Focus and People Managing skills.


Remuneration: Market related.
